Why the file stays on your device
PDFs tend to be the documents people least want to hand over: contracts, bank statements, ID scans, medical letters. Most online PDF sites upload the file, process it on their server and send a copy back. These tools load the code into the page instead and do the work where the file already is, so there is no copy on anyone else’s computer to worry about.
The page-based tools show every page as a thumbnail you can click or drag, so you rarely type a page number. To combine work, run one tool after another: for example, merge two files, then organize the result, then add a password.
