How to make a photo collage

  1. Choose 2 to 9 photos. They open on your device and the collage appears straight away.
  2. Pick a layout and a size. Tap a layout and a canvas size, then set the spacing, corner radius and background colour. The preview changes as you go.
  3. Arrange and download. Drag inside a photo to choose which part shows, drag one photo onto another to swap them, then download a JPG or PNG.

Layouts you can use

There are 49 layouts, and the tool shows the ones that fit the number of photos you have added: even grids, strips and columns, layouts with one large photo beside, above or in the middle of smaller ones, and mosaics of mixed sizes.

Put two photos side by side

Add two photos and the Side by side layout is chosen for you; switch to Stacked to put one above the other. For a before and after, choose a Wide or Landscape canvas so both photos stay large, and set the spacing to 0 for a seamless join or leave a thin gap to separate them.

Spacing, corners and background

Spacing sets the gap between photos and around the edge, and corner radius rounds every photo. Both are measured against a 1080 pixel canvas, so the look stays the same when you switch to a larger size. The background shows in the gaps: white, black, grey, or any colour you pick.

In most layouts each photo fills its cell completely and is cropped from its centre to fit. Drag inside a photo to show a different part, or select it and use the zoom slider to move in closer. On a keyboard, Tab to a photo, use the arrow keys to move it and plus or minus to zoom.

To make one photo bigger than another, drag the gap between them. Every gap moves, so you can widen a column, shorten a row or give one photo most of the canvas; no photo can be made smaller than a set minimum. On a keyboard, Tab to a gap and use the arrow keys (hold Shift for bigger steps). Make equal (Reset sizes on layouts with one large photo) puts the photos back to the layout's own sizes, and choosing another layout starts it fresh.

Keep every photo uncropped

The Uncropped layout sizes each photo by its own shape, so nothing is cut off. Photos stay in order and sit in rows of equal width, and the tool picks the split into rows that covers the most of your canvas. The download is still the canvas size you chose: the rows fit inside it, and the background colour fills any space left above and below or at the sides. Choose a canvas close to the shape of your photos, such as Portrait for mostly tall photos, to keep that space small.

Sizes for Instagram and other platforms

Choose a plain square, landscape, portrait or wide canvas, or one of the platform sizes, such as these:

SizePixels
Instagram square post1080 × 1080
Instagram portrait post1080 × 1350
Instagram story or reel1440 × 2560
Facebook feed post1440 × 1800
X post image1920 × 1080
Pinterest pin1000 × 1500

The download is exactly the canvas size you choose. Photos are scaled to fill their cells, so a small photo in a large cell is enlarged and can look soft; it is resized, not sharpened or upscaled by AI.

Free, no watermark, and your photos stay with you

The collage is drawn in your browser with its own canvas, so your photos are never uploaded. There is no account, no watermark on the download and no limit on how many collages you make. It works on phones too, and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

Common questions

Is this collage maker free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limit on how many collages you make.
Does it add a watermark?
No. The download has only your photos on it.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The collage is made in your browser, and your photos never leave your device.

How do I put two photos side by side?
Add two photos. The Side by side layout is selected automatically; download it as it is or adjust the spacing first.
Can I change the spacing and border between photos?
Yes. Set the spacing (the gap between and around photos), the corner radius and the background colour that shows in the gaps.
Can I make an Instagram-sized collage?
Yes. Under Canvas size, choose Instagram and then the square, portrait or story size.
How do I swap two photos?
Drag one photo onto the other and let go. On a keyboard, Tab to a photo, press Enter, Tab to the other and press Enter again.
Can I reposition a photo inside its cell?
Yes. Drag inside the photo to change which part shows, and use the zoom slider to move closer.

Can I make a collage without cropping my photos?
Yes. Choose the Uncropped layout. Each photo keeps its own shape, the rows fit inside the canvas size you pick, and the background fills any space left over.
What format does it download?
JPG or PNG. JPG makes a smaller file for photos.
Will the collage be high quality?
The download is the exact canvas size you choose. Photos are scaled to fill their cells; a photo smaller than its cell is enlarged and may look softer.

No. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
