What lorem ipsum is
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin taken from De finibus bonorum et malorum, a book on ethics Cicero wrote in 45 BC. Typesetters have used it as filler for centuries because it looks like ordinary text, with a natural mix of short and long words, but nobody stops to read it. That keeps attention on the layout, the type and the spacing while the real copy is still being written.
This generator builds new text from the traditional lorem ipsum vocabulary each time. Each sentence has 6 to 14 words with the occasional comma, and each paragraph has 4 to 7 sentences, so a page fills the way real writing would. No word appears twice in a row.
How much text to use
Fill each space with roughly the amount the real copy will have:

Placeholder text hides problems real copy reveals: a German word that will not wrap, a name twice as long as expected, a heading that runs to three lines. Swap in real content as early as you can, and test the longest version you expect.
Plain text or HTML
Plain text separates paragraphs with a blank line, ready for a design tool, a document or a text field. HTML wraps each paragraph in a <p> tag, ready to paste into a template or a page builder's code view.
