Rotate a PDF and save it, in your browser
Click a page to turn it, or turn them all, and save the rotation into the file. It all happens on your device.

How to rotate a PDF and save it
- Open your PDF. Drop the file above or choose it. Every page appears as a preview.
- Click the pages that need turning. Each click turns that page a quarter turn right, and you see it turn on its preview. Shift-click, or the left button under the page, turns it the other way.
- Or turn every page at once. Left, Right and 180° beside the pages turn the whole document in one tap.
- Download and open the new file. The turn is written into the downloaded copy. Open that file to confirm it, not the original.
Under the hood, a PDF engine running on your device updates each page’s stored rotation value and writes out a fresh file for download. There is no upload step: the engine loads once, then every rotation happens locally, so it keeps working even if you go offline.
Why a rotation sometimes won’t “stick”
Most PDF readers offer two different kinds of rotation, and it is easy to use the one that does not last.
- View rotation only changes how a page is shown on screen. Close the file and the setting is gone, because nothing in the file itself changed.
- Permanent rotation is written into the page’s own rotation value, so the page stays turned in every app that opens it afterwards.
This tool writes permanent rotation. If a page still looks the same after rotating, you have almost certainly reopened the original file. Open the newly downloaded copy instead.
Fixing a sideways or upside-down scan
Scanners and phone cameras often save pages the wrong way up, especially when a document is fed in landscape or a page is flipped. Rotation fixes the orientation without touching the image itself.
- Lying on its right side? Turn it 270° (a quarter turn left) to stand it up.
- Lying on its left side? Turn it 90° (a quarter turn right).
- Completely upside down? Turn it 180°.
If only a few pages are wrong, switch Pages to Selected pages and list just those numbers, so the rest are left exactly as they are. Rotation only changes a page attribute, so a scanned page keeps its original resolution; nothing is re-compressed and no quality is lost.
Rotating a PDF without uploading it
Many online PDF tools send your file to a server, rotate it there, and send a copy back. That works, but your document leaves your device to do it. This tool takes a different route: the rotation runs entirely in your browser, so the file is never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never leaves the machine you are on.
Because the work is local, it also keeps running after the page has loaded even with no connection, handy on a plane or a locked-down network. For a contract, a bank statement, or anything confidential, keeping the file on your own device is the simplest way to stay in control of it.
Pages also in the wrong order? Organize the pages to drag, turn and remove them in one go. To drop pages only, use Delete PDF pages, and to combine files, merge PDFs.
