Add a watermark to a PDF
Stamp CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, your own words or a logo on all or chosen pages. Your file stays on your device.
Drop a PDF, or click to choose
You will see the watermark on your pages as you set it up.
Need to write on the pages too? The PDF editor adds text, signatures and highlights.
How to add a watermark to a PDF
- Open your PDF. Drop the PDF on the page or click to choose it. The first page appears with a sample watermark straight away.
- Set up the watermark. Tap a word such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT, or type your own, or choose a logo. Pick diagonal, centre, a corner or tiled, then set the size, opacity, rotation and colour.
- Choose the pages. Keep all pages, pick odd or even pages, type a range, or click pages on the grid.
- Download. The preview is the real result. Download saves the watermarked PDF.
Text or a logo, wherever you need it
Text that stays text
Latin text is written into the PDF as real text in a standard font, so it can be selected and searched. Text in other scripts, such as Chinese or Arabic, is added as a sharp picture of the words, drawn with your device’s fonts.
A logo with transparency
A PNG keeps its transparent background; a JPG works too. The image is stored once in the file and reused on every page, so the PDF stays small.
Diagonal, corner or tiled
Diagonal runs corner to corner at the angle of each page. Corner places it at any of nine points. Tiled repeats it across the page with the spacing you choose.
Right on every page
The mark is placed as each page is shown, so it sits the same way up on portrait, landscape, turned and odd-sized pages.
Your file stays on your device
The watermark is added in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so it suits contracts, statements and drafts you would rather not send anywhere. The rest of the PDF is left as it is: fillable form fields keep working, links still jump, and bookmarks stay.
Watermarking a photo instead? Use watermark an image. To add a signature or a note as well, open the result in the PDF editor, and to lock the file afterwards use Protect PDF.
