Rotate or flip an image
Turn a photo 90° or 180°, straighten it by any small angle, or mirror it. It all happens on your device.
Drop an image to rotate, or click to choose
JPG, PNG or WebP. It stays on your device.
How it works
- Choose an image. It opens on your device with the rotate and flip controls ready.
- Turn, straighten or flip. Tap Rotate left, Rotate right or Turn 180°. Drag the Angle slider or tap a preset to straighten a tilted photo. Flip across makes a mirror image; Flip over turns it upside down.
- Download. Pick JPG, PNG or WebP and save. Undo any step first if you change your mind.
Quarter turns, fine angles and flips
90° and 180°
Lossless in geometry: every pixel moves, none is lost. Width and height swap on a quarter turn and stay the same on a half turn.
Any angle
Up to 45° either way, in half-degree steps. The photo is zoomed just enough to fill the frame, so no blank corners appear.
Flip
Across mirrors left and right, like a selfie camera. Over mirrors top and bottom. Text in the photo reads backwards after a flip.
Straightening a crooked photo
A horizon that leans by two or three degrees is enough to make a photo feel off. Drag the Angle slider until a line that should be level, such as the horizon, a table edge or a doorframe, sits straight. Turning a picture by a small angle leaves empty wedges at the corners, so the editor zooms in from the centre just enough to cover them. The saved image keeps the same width and height; a little of each edge is trimmed, more the further you turn. For a turn past 45°, start with a quarter turn and straighten from there.
Phone photos that show up sideways
Phones save most photos in one orientation and write a small note, the EXIF orientation tag, that tells viewers which way is up. Some apps and websites ignore the note, so the photo appears on its side. This tool reads the note when it opens the photo, shows it the right way up, and saves the pixels upright, so the result looks the same everywhere. Most other hidden metadata, such as the GPS location, is dropped when you save.
Need more than a turn? The same photo can be cropped, resized or captioned in the photo editor, or cut to a ratio with crop image. To turn the pages of a PDF instead, use rotate PDF.
